So, just to be clear, I don' think there's anything wrong with putting your pronouns in your bio, nor do I think it's impossible that it will become a generally accepted part of everyday life to introduce yourself that way... I'm just flabbergasted at how quickly the youngs arrive at consensus on things. Like, I feel like that happened in about 10 minutes.⁠

You know, when you're young, if you're a thoughtful young, you're fully aware that someday you will be an old and the young people will baffle you. Like, you know it's coming. However, that doesn't mean you can imagine with any kind of accuracy what form that difference will take. I imagined that the young people of the 'future' [now] would define themselves through music that I found horrible... but in reality they don't define themselves through music at all. It means nothing to them... didn't see that coming. I imagined that the young people of the 'future' [now] would rebel against the received wisdom of the past which was imposed on them... but I didn't imagine that they would impose their own rigid consensus so fast! If the Boomers said, "Question Authority" then the Zoomers seem to be saying, "Replace Authority with New Authority and Never Question It!" And I definitely didn't see that coming.⁠
